Traffic counters nowadays are being used in convenient stores to keep track or count of number of people waling in and walking out. This counter helps convenient store determine what is the busiest time of the day. how does this application work, it pretty simple, first of all not all digital video recorders are able to do this functionality, the most popular inexpensive video capture card that can do this is geovision. Geovision is a dvr capture card manufacturer that has advanced video analytics to do such things and more. Setting it is pretty easy using geovision software, you define 2 regions on a selected camera region 1 would be considered the first point of entrance region 2 the 2nd point of entrance, if an object or person steps into step 1 first and then to step 2 he would be considered coming in, if its the opposite he would be counted as going out.
