I have attempted to setup a dvr system for a client. Currently I have 4 Surveilux SVP-DNC10X cameras (ptz cams), 11 Surveilux SVV-55IR24 cameras (fixed ir cams), 1 Surveilux SVV-55IR24 (ptz), 1 Surveilux SV-PS121810 powersupply, Dell Optiplex workstation, 1 Geovision GV-1480-16 (dvr card) with additional audio card, 1 Geovision GV-COM (for ptz), 3 ETS SM5 (for audio), 1 1-4 video splitter with power supply(get's video to tv's downstairs), SV-UTP baluns, all cameras are wired with cat5e. Unfortunately the vendor recommended running cat5e but neglected to mention the amount of interferance each camera would incur due to the cat5e not being shielded! I have already had 1 power supply burn up and it looks like another one is about to burn up as well. I need to know how to get rid of the interference on the cams (hopefully not having to run more cable). If I do what type of cable should I want to get the best quality from the cams. Do I need a different powersupply for the cams or just have an additional power supply for the ptz cams. I went by today and the ps box was really hot and now it won't power all of the cameras properly. I keep getting pics on the workstation flashing in and out. I went ahead and powered the ps down. The cabling is a nightmare at the ps end. I have 1 pair of cat5 ran in the the ps, 1 pair ran to the balun's that inturn hook to the cables that attach to the dvr. For the ptz's i have this wiring as well and have an additional pair running the the gvcom box that allows the ptz's to move. Is there any way to get the interferance out of the cameras and what do I need to do about the power supply. Oh by the way the workstation loves to blue screen and I can't figure out why. I am almost positive that it has something to do with the dvr card. I have 1 of the ptz's mounted outside of the building and can't get a video signal at all. I can hear the cam turn on and go the the boot cycle but can't get an image. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
Also the farthest pull from the powersupply is about 75 to 80 feet. Should I go ahead and use my existing wire as pull cable and go ahead and pull 1 cat5e solid shielded cable along with a shielded 2 conductor shielded cable to help with power and clean up the mess on the dvr end? If so please remember that cat5e is 24 guage wire, is this ok for the ptz cam's? Also if I pull 2 conductor shielded cable for power what guage should I use. I am going to attempt to upload the pdf spec sheets of all the equipment, they will be in zipped. Please advise.
